Martha Hart has pointed out a major blunder in Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. She has been closely associated with AEW for quite some time now. She and the promotion have also held an annual tournament since 2022 as a tribute to Owen Hart.

In 1999, Owen Hart tragically passed away after falling while he was being lowered from the roof of an arena during his entrance. Her wife then sued WWE for Owen's wrongful death. The case called a verdict against the global sports entertainment juggernaut, and the company had to settle the matter for $18 Million.

The recently released Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon discussed Owen Hart's death and the situation surrounding it. In the episode 'The Attitude,' Vince McMahon claimed that the faulty equipment led to his fall from an elevated height.

In response, Martha Hart issued a press release claiming that the equipment used for rappelling was meant for other uses.

"What the documentary fails to mention is that the equipment used was never meant for a rappelling stunt. Instead, a harness meant for dragging stunt people behind cars on movie shoots was used with a sailboat clip meant to release on load with only six pounds of pressure. Had the WWE hired qualified riggers who followed proper protocol that included redundancy, as is typical practice, and used the correct equipment, Owen would not have died that night."

Martha further claimed that she holds 'then-WWE management' responsible for her husband's death.

"To be clear, no one involved in the making of this documentary attempted to contact me for comment or to obtain an accurate perspective. I continue to hold WWE and its then-management responsible for Owen’s death," she added. [H/T - Canada Newswire]

Martha Hart wants to continue the charitable work of the Owen Hart Foundation

Martha Hart has been partnering with AEW for charity as they annually conduct the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

In the same press release, the 57-year-old star revealed she will continue the charity work while being associated with AEW.

"I remain focused on honouring Owen’s legacy through the charitable good work of the Owen Hart Foundation and via the AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournament," she claimed. [H/T - Canada Newswire]

It will be interesting to see if WWE takes any action against Martha's statements.
