Matt Hardy believes that a former WWE authority figure could make a one-off appearance in AEW. The individual in question is Shane McMahon.
For several weeks, Shane-O-Mac has been a topic of conjecture among fans as rumors spread regarding his interest in appearing in AEW. The speculations snowballed further after McMahon's recent meeting with Tony Khan, especially after a photograph from said meeting found its way on social media.
Former WWE Superstar Matt Hardy recently shared his response to the picture featuring TK and Shane McMahon on a recent edition of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy. The Broken One expressed his surprise at Khan's meeting with Shane, although he clarified that few things shock him nowadays, especially in the wrestling world.
"I was like 'Whoa, look at this!'" Hardy said. "It was one of those things were it was kind of like...it was a little 'Whoa!' I would describe it as a 'Whoa!' moment, but at the end of the day, nothing surprises me...nothing surprises in the world and in life. We live in such an insane world where anything can happen. It's just the world is insane right now."

Hardy went on to suggest that McMahon could feasibly make an appearance on All Elite Wrestling programming, at the very least for a cameo, in light of the excitement generated by his photo with the All Elite President.
"I feel like at this point, after this picture was leaked, whether it was leaked by the parties involved or leaked by someone who just took it and knew they had something special, I feel there's so much buzz about it that it would be hard to imagine that he doesn't appear, at least for one cameo," Hardy said. "Just to show up and say 'Hey, here I am. I'm still around, and this is wrestling, AEW. I met Tony Khan. He's cool' or whatever. I almost feel like, just with this buzz and this photo getting out, that I could see him definitely appearing at some juncture." [H/T Wrestling Inc]
During his time in WWE, Shane McMahon served in various on-screen roles, most notably as co-general Manager alongside Stephanie McMahon and later as the Commissioner of SmackDown Live. Many believe that the 54-year-old could occupy a similar role in AEW.
