Matt Jackson threatened to fire a top Elite member during the AEW Blood and Guts match. This took place midway through the match and caught everyone involved by surprise.
The star in question is none other than former AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page. It all happened in strange circumstances. Page first attacked Swerve Strickland while he was on his way to the ring. He blindsided him with the chair shot and then handcuffed him to the cage, and proceeded to assault him with his world title.
This was when Matt Jackson saw the opportunity and demanded that Adam Page get in the ring and not waste time. He did that because he wanted his team to have an advantage over Team AEW. Jackson said that if Page did not get in the ring immediately, he would be fired from the company.
That prompted Hangman to make his way into the ring, and for a short while, the match started off with The Elite having one extra member. Swerve Strickland was later freed from handcuffs by WWE Hall of Famers Billy Gunn and Jeff Jarrett.
This showed that the animosity between Page and Strickland still exists and that they will be taking each other in a match sooner rather than later.
