WWE Legend Gangrel recently addressed Adam Copeland's injury. The veteran used to lead 'The Brood' faction alongside Copeland (fka Edge) and Christian Cage in the WWE during the Attitude Era.
At the AEW Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View in May, Adam Copeland defended his TNT Championship in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black. The match was chaotic and even saw a surprise appearance by Gangrel who took out The House of Black. Copeland went on to retain his title, however, had to relinquish it due to suffering a broken tibia during the brutal contest.
Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, the former WWE star thanked Adam Copeland for bringing him to AEW and spoke about The Rated-R Superstar's unfortunate injury.
"It looked higher. Maybe that's what happened when he got up there I don't know. I love him to death and I'm sorry it happened to him. I can't thank him enough for thinking of me and bringing the whole Brood thing full circle and coming out there and having that moment. Thank you and you know whatever it was 25 years later." Gangrel also spoke about how the style of wrestling has evolved with the current generation
Speaking with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE veteran Gangrel also brought up how the majority of the wrestlers pushing 50 are still performing like they're in their 30s.
The veteran also expressed how the younger generation of wrestlers doing high-risk maneuvers tend to get injured due to their "fast-paced and highly explosive" style.
"The 50s are the new 30s you know... There is medicine and what we know about the body and different healing things. It's amazing what we can do if we pay attention to our bodies and staying tuned with them in stuff. A lot of guys to take good and clean bumps wrestle into their 50s if they do it right. The style today with the younger generation on the other hand is a very very fast-paced and highly explosive... With that type of style, you are due to have injuries. It doesn't matter what company, WWE, Independence, or AEW." [From 00:30 to 01:14]
The leader of the Brood has made a couple of appearances for AEW in recent years. It will be interesting to see if Tony Khan brings him back to the company when Adam Copeland returns.
