One of the top tag teams on AEW's roster, FTR, recently fell victim to a brutal assault. The duo spoke on the matter on Dynamite: Holiday Bash and seemingly teased the unveiling of a major alliance next year.

It was at the end of Collision last week that The Death Riders carried out an ambush on Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler backstage, with Claudio Castagnoli and PAC putting bags on the two men's heads and then beating them down behind closed doors. The ambush was led by AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

FTR addressed being attacked by The One True King and his soldiers from their hometown of Asheville, North Carolina, on the December 18 edition of Dynamite. Cash Wheeler admitted his surprise over being assaulted for saving Orange Cassidy from being poisoned by the heel group, despite supposedly agreeing, to an extent, with their message, if not their methods.

Harwood then mused on the topic of life after wrestling for the former AEW World Tag Team Champions, revealing that he and his partner were not going to be medically cleared for the rest of the year. However, Dax went on to issue a warning to The Death Riders and vowed that FTR would be ready to fight them at Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on January 1 in North Carolina. Harwood further indicated that he and Wheeler would not show up "alone," implying that they may have an ally to make up for their numbers disadvantage.

Incidentally, AEW also teased the return of Kenny Omega tonight. Who the Top Guys will bring with them when they return to action on January 1 remains to be seen.
