Mercedes Mone is one of the top names in All Elite Wrestling. Currently, she is in an alliance with Kamille and holds the AEW TBS Championship as well as the NJPW Strong Women's Championship.
Before signing with AEW, The CEO spent several years in WWE. In the Stamford-based company, the erstwhile Sasha Banks was immensely successful, as she battled massive names such as Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and more. The 32-year-old is a five-time RAW Women's Champion and a one-time SmackDown Women's Champion. Mercedes is still close to several of her former peers, including former WWE Divas Champion Natalya.
In the latest issue of her Moné Mag newsletter, the former Sasha Banks wrote that the 42-year-old was an ''absolute legend.'' Furthermore, she recalled instances when the RAW Superstar treated her with kindness and respect.
"Let me start with Natalya, an absolute legend in her own right. She’s been wrestling longer than me and has helped shape so many careers, including mine. My first dark match, some of my first NXT matches, Natalya was right there with me. I still remember being in the ring with her, and she would whisper things like, 'You’re doing great,' or 'Amazing job!' Honestly, that meant the world to me,'' she wrote.

The reigning AEW TBS Champion added:
''Those little moments of encouragement? They stick with you. When I step in the ring with less-experienced talent, I try to pass that same energy along. It’s all about building confidence because, trust me, we’ve all been there."
Mercedes Mone calls Emi Sakura an icon
Mercedes Mone locked horns with Japanese wrestler Emi Sakura at Dynamite: Title Tuesday. The CEO managed to retain both her titles against Emi.
In the newsletter mentioned above, Mone called Emi Sakura ''a Japanese icon and legend.''
"Emi is a Japanese icon and legend who's been in the wrestling business for 30 years! She is a legend and someone I've admired and have literally been watching since I was 13! So, for me personally, as a fan of the sport, as Mercedes Varnado, I am more excited than normal," the champion wrote.
It will be interesting to see what the Tony Khan-led creative team has in store for Mercedes Mone.
