Mercedes Mone is the current TBS Champion. However, she was recently challenged to a title vs. title match in AEW.
Ever since arriving in AEW, Mercedes Mone has been able to stamp her authority on the women's division. It didn't take long for her to win the TBS Championship. Being the ambitious person that she is, The CEO decided to add one more belt to her collection and captured the NJPW Strong Women's Championship.
Recently, Mone mentioned that she wanted to face the current AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May. Hence when asked about the women's roster on Rasslin' with Brandon F. Walker, May stated that she didn't care about anyone except Mercedes because the latter called her out. The star then challenged The CEO to a title vs. title match.
“Yeah, and then I’ll say okay, put your belt on the line, and then I’ll have two belts. Three if we want to include the Owen Belt. Four if she wants to put the New Japan Strong belt on the line," May said. [H/T: Fightful]

Dutch Mantell criticized Mercedes Mone's promo skills
While Mercedes Mone is one of the top stars in AEW's women's division, her promo skills have come under criticism several times before. Unlike some of her contemporaries, Mone's mic skills are almost non-existent.
Speaking on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the wrestling veteran also criticized The CEO's mic skills stating that he cringes every time she does an interview or cuts a promo.
"Hey when [Mercedes] Mone does an interview, I cringe. I'm going, 'God, terrible'. It just looks like memorized and she just recites the lines and there's nothing between either one of 'em [Mercedes Mone & Britt Baker]. I much prefer Toni Storm and all the rest of those guys and Saraya because they at least put some life into it, Mone does nothing."

It remains to be seen whether both Mone and May will ever compete against each other in a title vs. title match.
