Mercedes Mone first made a name for herself in WWE. During this time, she wrestled several of the top stars and had several memorable matches including one which she calls the "greatest women's match ever."
Mercedes Mone belonged to the same batch of NXT women as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley. Hence, she trained and competed against them on numerous occasions. One of the most memorable matches she had was at NXT Takeover Brooklyn against Bayley in what is regarded as one of the greatest women's matches of all time.
During a recent edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, The CEO said that her match against Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn is the greatest women's match ever:
"All the above takes me to a few of this week's Moné Memories. One Great match I had with ZERO prep between my opponent and me was the one at NXT Takeover in Brooklyn with Bayley. At the time, I was on the road full-time with so little time. In addition, I had to do a panel with Triple H two hours before the doors even opened. I was also coming straight from Smackdown or Raw, so I didn't even get to work out in the ring with Bayley."
Mercedes continued to say that she only had five minutes to discuss a crazy spot she wanted to try out in the match but they never rehearsed it or any other move:
"We only had maybe five minutes to talk about our match in the ring. I wanted to tell her about this crazy spot. In truth, I didn't even want to practice with her or show her the spot because I was afraid that they were going to tell me no, or that the boys were going to see it and that they were going to take it away. Yes, that happens. So, I just kind of told her what I wanted to do. As I said, we didn't get to rehearse it or any other move. However, that match turned out to be the greatest women's match ever." Mercedes Mone says Saraya is "pissing" her off backstage
Ever since her arrival in AEW, Mercedes Mone has received plenty of special treatment in the way she is booked and the way she is handled backstage. This didn't sit well with Saraya as there were reports the former AEW Women's World Champion wasn't happy with The CEO.
During the same edition of Mone Mag, Mercedes said that Saraya has been "pissing" her off backstage:
"From CEO: I really am unstoppable with Kamille by my side. The CEO is always handling business, so I’ll think about taking that phone call from MVP. As far as Saraya goes, I heard she just signed a new deal with AEW, which is perfect for us to continue our story. She’s been really pissing me off backstage lately, too, thinking that her dog Roxy is cuter than RYU. I think NOT!" [H/T Mone Mag]
It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone will be able to recreate the same level of matches in AEW.
