Mercedes Moné put her title on the line for the first time against a certain three-time AEW Women's Champion to start this week's episode of Dynamite. This would be All Elite Wrestling's original Hikaru Shida.

A few days ago on Collision, Shida challenged The CEO to a match for the TBS Championship. She claimed that despite her not having the best run recently, she was still the woman tied with the most world title reigns and the longest-reigning world champion in AEW history.
To open tonight's show, both women faced off in what was their first bout against one another. It was not a walk in the park for the champion, as it seemed that Hikaru Shida could match whatever she was given throughout the contest.

At a point, Kamille made her present felt, which prompted Shida to grab her kendo stick and use it to get The Brickhouse away from the match.

Mercedes Moné took advantage of the situation to grab the Kendo stick and used this to distract the referee momentarily, which allowed Kamille to hit a Big Boot on Shida.
This opened up an opportunity for Mercedes Moné to hit her Moné Maker finisher for yet another successful title defense, with less than two weeks until All In pay-per-view.

If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
