AEW star Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) recently appeared in a popular promotion. She made an unannounced appearance at a CMLL event.
On June 21, 2024, Stephanie Vaquer defended her NJPW Strong Women's Championship against La Catalina at a CMLL show in Arena Mexico. After Vaquer's victory, Moné confronted her inside the ring. Following a brief exchange of words, the reigning TBS Champion slapped the 31-year-old.
Moné ultimately posed with the TBS Title and the NJPW Strong Women's Championship, hinting at capturing Stephanie Vaquer's gold. The CEO and Vaquer are set to face each other at Forbidden Door, which will take place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on June 30.
On X/Twitter, Moné posted a two-worded message, reacting to her appearance at the CMLL show. She also shared a picture of herself from the event.
"Muchas gracias ['Thank you very much' in Spanish] @CMLL_OFICIAL," Moné wrote.

Wrestling veteran mocks Mercedes Moné
The Boston Celtics recently defeated the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Championship. Mercedes Moné attended the game and shared a selfie and a video of herself after her hometown team grabbed the victory.
Reacting to the post, WWE veteran Jonathan Coachman took a shot at the former WWE star. Coachman claimed that Mercedes Moné was present at the NBA finals to remind herself of what it felt like to be in an arena full of fans.
"This is great. It’s good for Mercedes [Mone] to remind herself what a full arena and cheers actually feels like. [come on I had to]. Tune in to @BehindTheBuckle this week as we launch a second show with @btt_tommyc and myself and debate the biggest topics in pro wrestling. We drop on Fridays."
Coachman seemingly referenced AEW's attendance figures at weekly shows in his tweet. All Elite Wrestling has reportedly been struggling to attract fans at its events in some regions. The company also saw low TV ratings for Dynamite recently.
