Mercedes Mone gives update on forgotten WWE star - "He's in great shape"

Mercedes Mone recently caught up with a former WWE star. She provided an update about him.

Kalisto first signed with the WWE in 2013. He quickly caught the attention of the fans due to his high-flying antics in the ring. He even rose to become the Cruiserweight Champion. Sadly, things took a downturn after he formed the Lucha House Party along with Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado. He was finally released from WWE in 2021.

Despite his release, he has been in touch with some of his former colleagues, especially Mercedes Mone. The CEO has previously admitted that she and Kalisto are good friends and the latter even once helped her carry her shopping haul back home after a shopping spree in Chicago.

Recently, Mone won her third title when she defeated Mina Shirakawa for the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Title. In the latest edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, The CEO admitted that she celebrated her big win by going to a team dinner which also involved Kalisto. She noted that the former WWE star was in great shape and in good spirits:

"[Post-match, I was dehydrated and cramped a bit. I was also coming down from the whole ordeal. Normally, Team one tradition is to celebrate title wins, popping bottles and partying the night away. (I hope other title winners rightfully do the same!) However, this time it was just a team dinner and a surprise guest appearance by former WWE Superstar, 'Kalisto'. He is in great shape, in great spirits and it was so nice to see him at such a meaningful event." [H/T Mone Mag]

Konnan recently said that Mercedes Mone is not entertaining

Mercedes Mone has been on a dominant run ever since her AEW debut. She won the TBS and NJPW Strong Women's Championships and recently won the RevPro British Women's Title making her a triple champion. Despite her in-ring dominance, The CEO has come under harsh criticism for her promo skills and lack of personality.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 Official podcast, Konnan said that Mercedes Mone is redundant even though she wrestles frequently because she is not as entertaining as other wrestlers like Kevin Owens. He further added that Tony Khan is trying to make the best use of her because he is paying her a lot of money:

"Here's the problem with Mone. She's become kind of redundant even though when she wrestles, she has matches. But her character is very redundant. She's not entertaining like let's say a Kevin Owens or MJF or a Christian. She's just not entertaining. The best part of her thing is her gear and what color and design is in her hair, and I almost feel like Tony's like, 'I'm paying her too much money. She has to be out there every show plus she has name value.'

It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone will add more titles to her already impressive resume.
