Mercedes Mone's current run in AEW has come under much scrutiny in recent months. Even a fan took a dig at her, prompting The CEO to respond.
Mercedes Mone's rise in AEW has been meteoric. She has been pushed to the moon since she arrived in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The CEO quickly won the TBS Championship and became a double champion at the Forbidden Door event.
While she has been booked strongly by AEW, her promo skills and personality have been heavily criticized by fans and critics. Some fans have even turned on the AEW star in recent weeks with boos throughout the arena.
During a recent Instagram live session of Mercedes, a fan commented that her move from WWE to AEW has been a downgrade. The CEO responded that she is thriving in her new environment and is doing better than she's ever been in her life:
Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE
“I just saw someone say, ‘Downgrade has to be studied,’” Mone said during the live session. “B****, I’m richer than I’ve ever f***** been. Putting on the greatest matches that I’ve ever had! So shut the f— up. I hate stupid people. I’m living my best life, the greatest life ever! It’s an upgrade, baby. I went forward, I didn’t go back. It’s the best feeling ever to be rich in spirit, rich in your bank account, and rich in life. It’s the best.” [H/T Ringside News]
Kamille addressed her backstage issues with Mercedes Mone
Kamille was brought in to serve as the bodyguard for Mercedes Mone. However, their relationship turned sour after the Brickhouse failed to weaken Kris Statlander before her title match against Mone at AEW Full Gear.
She even asked Kamille to remain in catering during her match.
The following week on Dynamite, The CEO was about to fire the Brickhouse when the latter quit and walked away.
Kamille didn't say much about the situation until her recent interview with Covalent TV where she said that she has been holding her tongue but Mone has pushed her too far. She also said that she's been regrouping and replanning her next steps:
“I was brought up very respectfully; if you don’t got something nice to say, just don’t say anything. So, I’ve been holding my tongue, holding my tongue, but I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough. I had to give her a little piece of my mind, give her the line back that she’s been giving me so often, but instead of being physical, which she might have deserved, I walked away. So now I'm kind of regrouping, replanning what's gonna happen," said Kamille. [2:42 - 3:09]
It will be interesting to see if Kamille will soon challenge Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship.
