Mercedes Mone has long been a pioneer of women's wrestling. But even outside the ring, she is known to support fellow wrestlers and recently opened up about helping a popular AEW star with serious age concerns.

During the recent edition of her newsletter, Mone Mag, Mercedes reflected on meeting AEW star Mina Shirakawa during her early 30s. The CEO revealed that she was new to the business and had aspirations to face her in the United States.

However, according to Mone, Shirakawa had concerns about her age. But she motivated her, dismissing all apprehensions as she knew Mina Shirakawa's ability as an in-ring performer. The AEW star proved her worth as a talented wrestler and has become a popular name in the business today, with Mercedes Mone being extremely proud of her.

"I remember meeting her a few years back when she was in her early 30s. At that time, she was new to our craft and shared her great passion for wrestling with me and wanting to wrestle in the U.S., but she had concerns about her age. She honestly seemed to feel like it was too late for her. I do remember assuring her nothing could be further from the truth. Side note and lesson for all of you, your friends, and your children: it's never too late for any of us, as Mina proved. And you heard it here from the CEO: you have not seen the last of this girl. She is another superstar on the rise, and I couldn't be prouder to know her and to have competed against her."

Mercedes Mone & Mina Shirakawa had a spectacular in-ring showdown at Wrestle Dynasty

Mercedes Mone was an early driving force in Mina Shirakawa's career. The duo had the opportunity to compete against each other in a high-stakes match at Wrestle Dynasty that took place on January 5 in the Tokyo Dome.

Despite having a panic attack before the match, The CEO emerged victorious over Shirakawa. This led to the current TBS & NJPW Strong Women's Champion winning the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Championship.

With Mercedes adding more gold to her collection, it remains to be seen if anyone can stop the dominance of The CEO as she continues to reign atop the women's division.
