Mercedes Mone has made a big splash since her debut in AEW. Now, she is already eyeing another milestone in the company.
Since arriving at AEW, Mercedes Mone has risen to the top of the women's division. She quickly won the TBS Championship from Willow Nightingale. If that wasn't enough, The CEO went on to win the NJPW Strong Women's Championship from Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden.
Needless to say, it has been a phenomenal year for The CEO and it appears as if she is not done. During a recent interview with Uproxx Sports, Mone praised Mariah May's love for the wrestling business but she also has her eyes on the AEW Women's World Championship teasing a future dream match:
“I am super proud to watch from afar,” Mone stated. “She came in as a super fan, just loving wrestling, loved it so much that she moved from England to Japan, trained out in Stardom just to hone her craft, and now she’s here. She is our women’s world champion, beating Toni Storm in one of the best storylines in women’s history. To see her rise this fast and to see how good she is in the ring, it’s so incredible. Like I said, we have the best women’s division in the game right now. I’m definitely looking at the title that she has around her waist,” she said. [H/T Ringside News]

Mercedes Mone is also eyeing another dream match
Before Mercedes Mone arrived in AEW, Jade Cargill dominated the women's division for years. She was the first-ever TBS Champion and held the title for an impressive 508 days. She was also undefeated in the company for over 50 matches which is an impressive feat.
Given the accomplishments of Jade and The CEO, fans are excited to see a dream match between both women which may never happen since they work for different employers. However, Mone remains hopeful.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Mone said that people always ask her to wrestle Jade but the latter was gone from AEW before she arrived. However, she remains hopeful that anything could happen in wrestling:
“I mean, you never know in wrestling. I never cross paths with her. But every single autograph signing I’ve been to before I even came to AEW, so many fans were like, 'I hope you get to wrestle Jade, I want you to wrestle Jade.' I’m like, ‘Alright’. Then I came to AEW and she went to the other place but you never know. There’s a lot of dream matches out there in existence so, you never know in wrestling.” [9:10-9:38]
It will be interesting to see whether Mercedes Mone will get to wrestle Mariah May for the AEW Women's World Championship down the line.
