Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) has been officially confirmed to appear at a non-AEW event. This will surely be a big event, given the names involved.

Mercedes is known to have made a big splash in Japan after she left WWE. She had a short but successful run in New Japan Pro-Wrestling before making her move to All Elite Wrestling. AEW and NJPW have a working relationship, and the Japanese promotion has announced that it will soon return to the United States.

NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2024 is scheduled to be held at Long Beach on December 15, and Mercedes Mone is one of the many names advertised for the show. NJPW took to X to announce the event's details and also included the names that will be there.

"Tickets on sale TOMORROW, noon Pacific for Strong Style Evolved 12/15! Join 👊Tetsuya Naito 👊Gabe Kidd 👊Mercedes Moné 👊Shingo Takagi 👊Zack Sabre Jr 👊Hiromu Takahashi 👊Tomohiro Ishii 👊Shota Umino 👊Konosuke Takeshita 👊Hechicero 👊and more!" NJPW wrote.

Mercedes Mone comments on her match with Stephanie Vaquer in AEW

Mercedes Mone and Stephanie Vaquer locked horns at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door a few months back. It was a winner-takes-all match, with Vaquer putting her NJPW Strong Women’s title on the line against Mone's TBS Championship.

After the match, Vaquer was snapped up by WWE and Mercedes Mone has now said that her match with her was instrumental for that move to happen. She said this in the latest edition of her Mone Mag newsletter.

"Another time was with Stephanie Vaquer for AEW’s Forbidden Door. Stephanie flew in that day and got to the building maybe an hour before the doors opened. We just talked about the match a little where she speaks a whole different language (Spanish). That was so hard. I’m like, my God, we don’t get time to walk over our moves, we speak two different languages, and we’re both tired, jet lagged, and hungry, too. Yet, that also turned out to be such a great match. She was signed by the WWE days later. I’d like to think our match had a say in that!" she wrote.

It's great to see Mone praising the match, which garnered great reviews from critics and fans as well.
