Mercedes Mone's (fka Sasha Banks) status for AEW Full Gear all but confirmed

A top female AEW star recently challenged the current TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, for a title match at the Full Gear 2024 Pay-Per-View. The two have been feuding for weeks and the match is expected to be announced for the event soon.

Mercedes won the TBS Championship on her AEW in-ring debut at the Double or Nothing 2024 Pay-Per-View by defeating Willow Nightingale. The CEO has overcome multiple tough challenges since winning the title and is still the champion. Lately, Mone has been looking for a new challenger for her title as she has been feuding with Kris Statlander.

Statlander defeated Mone's ally, Kamille, last Wednesday on AEW Dynamite as well. After weeks of animosity, Kris finally challenged Mercedes for the TBS Championship at Full Gear 2024. In a backstage promo on Collision, the 29-year-old star recalled walking into Full Gear as the TBS Champion last year and vowed to walk out as the new champion this year.

Although the challenge has been made by Kris for Full Gear 2024, Mercedes Mone is yet to accept it in order to make the match official. Only time will tell when The CEO addresses the challenge made by Statlander and whether she agrees to defend her title against the latter at Full Gear 2024.
