AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone would like to see a WWE legend come to the Jacksonville-based promotion. The name in question is none other than Shane McMahon.
Shane O'Mac's arrival in AEW has been heavily speculated ever since a photograph of Tony Khan's meeting with him got leaked on social media. McMahon clarified that it was just a meeting about how they enjoy professional wrestling rather than rumored contract negotiations. Shane was also recently spotted with the EVPs, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson as posted by the duo on their Instagram accounts which sparked even more questions about his arrival in Tony Khan's promotion.
In her recent Mone Mag Newsletter, Mercedes Mone praised Shane McMahon for his passion for professional wrestling. She questioned whether the Prodigal Son is coming to All Elite Wrestling and said that it would be sad to see him not return to the industry.
"Seeing Shane's incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think is Shane coming to AEW? I'm here for it, and I'm sure our roster is too. Regardless, it just seems like Shane belongs in the wrestling business. I admit if he doesn't come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him. I know what it's like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way."

WWE Hall of Famer JBL doesn't see Shane McMahon joining AEW

In a recent Q&A session with Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer JBL claimed that Shane is a WWE-lifer and he doesn't see him joining All Elite Wrestling in the future.
"No, I don't. I think Shane O'Mac's one of the smartest guys in the business, and Shane always is a good man. He's a good person, and I think he's a lot like John and I; he's a lifer. But you never say never, but I just don't see it happening."
Professional wrestling is all about shocking moments and Shane McMahon appearing in All Elite Wrestling could be one of them. It will be interesting to see if the move happens in the coming months.
