AEW star Mercedes Mone recently sent a message to Drew McIntyre on the release of his recent film. The Scottish Warrior is one of the biggest stars in WWE.
Drew McIntyre has had a busy year due to his obsession with CM Punk as well as getting on top of the mountain by claiming the World Heavyweight Championship. However, despite his involvement in major angles in the WWE, McIntyre also filmed his first Hollywood film alongside Dave Bautista. The Killer's Game is set to hit theaters on September 13, 2024, and is looking to take the fans on an action-packed adventure.
Recently, at the movie's red carpet premiere, Mercedes Mone was present alongside other stars like Bayley and Cathy Kelley. In the recent edition of the Mone Mag, Mone talked about attending the premier of the film and noted how Bayley, Tamina, Naomi, and others were also there for her AEW debut, so it was just right to be there for her friends.
"Yes, after multiple pay-per-views I was tired, but I prioritized supporting my friends, including my wrestling friends. And you know why? Because my wrestling friends have always supported me. Whether wrestling for New Japan in my first appearance post-WWE or my debut at AEW, the likes of Naomi, Bayley, Tamina, and others were there for me. It's never easy for them with their schedules and with their own jobs but there they were – and there I'll be!"
The AEW TBS Champion continued:
"So, when I got the invite for the premiere of The Killer’s Game starring my friend Drew McIntyre, you bet I was gonna be there to support. Ditto for Bayley, who also flew in. It's always great to see Pam (Bayley), even in these quick spurts. Along with seeing her and Drew, I got to see another old friend, Cathy Kelley, who looked as beautiful as ever doing her thing. I hope this opportunity elevates Drew to additional outside opportunities. Regardless, he is starring in a big movie, and for that he should be so proud."
Mercedes Mone signed with AEW earlier this year
Mercedes Mone made headlines after signing with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year. She left WWE in 2022 and reinvented her career in NJPW before inking a deal with the Tony Khan-led promotion.
The CEO won the AEW TBS Championship in her in-ring debut for the promotion and shortly became a Double Champion after defeating Stephanie Vaquer for the NJPW Strong Women's Championship at Forbidden Door 2024.
It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) makes her return to World Wrestling Entertainment in the future. However, it seems like she's enjoying her current run in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
