Earlier tonight on WWE SmackDown, fans noticed something from a Bloodline member that looked too similar to something associated with MJF. Tama Tonga's t-shirt during the latest edition of SmackDown became a subject of discussion online.
During the show, a shot of the faction walking into the building flanked by Paul Heyman was shown. They were without Jacob Fatu who made his explosive debut last week, taking out the brand's top stars. Tama Tonga was seen wearing a new t-shirt, sporting the acronym "MFT", which has been associated with him since his WWE debut.
The font of the t-shirt looked all too familiar with MJF's design with the only difference being a difference in the colors used. Friedman's trademark look has the logo covered in the colors beige, white, and black. The set of colors is often seen in his gear as well, especially in the scarf he wears.
Fans thought this was a shirt from the AEW star at first glance, with just some letters looking interchanged. They thought it read "MFJ" instead of MFT. Some would even mention that this looks like a knockoff of the AEW star's merchandise.
"holy s**t MFJ is here," one fan commented.
"Maxwell Facob Jriedman," another replied.
"I thought that said mjf LMAOOOOOOO," a fan realized.
Others felt that this could have been intentional seeing how the fonts were completely similar, and only a few letters differentiated the two designs.
"Same f***ing font," another noticed.
"WWE tripping with this one they definitely trolling," a fan said.
MJF made a slight gimmick change during his return last month
Upon his return to AEW last month at Double or Nothing, MJF made an easily noticeable change to his look during his appearance in front of the Las Vegas crowd. This was him not wearing his iconic scarf.
Friedman had his usual swagger and egotistic demeanor on, but his gear was completely different. Instead of wearing a suit, with his iconic scarf wrapped around him, he had a denim leather jacket on instead.
He also revealed his new nickname as the Wolf of Wrestling. In his entrances since his return, he has used his new look, with his jacket simply changing between shows. He has yet to return his scarf to his look. MJF has kept everything from his entrance theme, even his titantron video, but this small change has completely changed the vibe of his character.
Friedman is now set to make his pay-per-view in-ring return this weekend at Forbidden Door as he'll face Hechicero from CMLL in singles competition.
