WWE commentator Michael Cole referenced a top AEW star on RAW ahead of SummerSlam. The star being discussed is Jack Perry. He had real-life heat with CM Punk.
The Scottish Warrior has been engaged in an intense battle with CM Punk for the last few months. While Drew insulted the latter on the microphone, Punk repaid by interfering in his World Heavyweight Championship matches and costing him the title on multiple occasions.
The Voice of the Voiceless wasn't cleared to wrestle after sustaining an injury six months ago. However, recently, CM Punk announced last week that he is medically cleared to compete, and his match with Drew McIntyre was made official for SummerSlam. Also, Seth Rollins, who has complications with both of these stars, is slated to referee the contest.
To gain the upper hand in the feud, McIntyre has made many AEW references throughout the months. He recently posted a picture with his real-life rival Jack Perry and also took a dig at Punk as Drew wrote, "Cry us a river" in the caption. The picture was deleted in just a few hours but created a lot of buzz.
On the recent edition of RAW, Seth Rollins was scheduled to explain the rules of the match to the contestants. While The Scottish Warrior was making his entrance, Michale Cole mentioned that McIntyre bought up some things from CM Punk's past, referring to the former sharing a picture with AEW star Jack Perry.
It will be interesting to see who picks victory at SummerSlam between the two.
