MJF has been a busy man since his return to AEW earlier this year. The 28-year-old recently signed on for a rare appearance on the independent wrestling scene, and he's now taken to social media to boast about it.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is currently engaged in a rivalry with Adam Cole on AEW television. He's also fresh off the set of Happy Gilmore 2, in which he reportedly plays a significant role alongside popular actor Adam Sandler.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman doesn't often wrestle outside of the Jacksonville-based promotion, although he did make an exception back in August when he defended his American Championship against Michael Oku in RevPro in order to embarrass Will Ospreay. The former AEW World Champion has often touted his ability to make obscene amounts of money for doing as little as possible.
However, it seems that Boca Raton Professional Wrestling has made MJF an offer he couldn't refuse. It was recently announced that he'll be facing fellow AEW star QT Marshall at BRCW's Festival of Fights on December 15. Maxwell took to X (fka Twitter) today to reveal that the promotion is paying him an "unhinged" sum for the match:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"Unhinged amount of money," he wrote.
MJF is stalking Adam Cole as AEW Full Gear approaches
Adam Cole turned on his "best friend," MJF, at AEW Worlds End last year. The segment followed Friedman's loss of the AEW World Championship, which was the last time fans would see the 28-year-old until Double or Nothing in May.
The Wolf of Wrestling is now in a feud with the recently returned Cole, but Maxwell won't let his former friend get to him easily. He's stipulated that Adam Cole must defeat three challengers if he wants a match at Full Gear.
The first of these challengers was Buddy Matthews, whom Cole faced on the most recent episode of Dynamite. During the match, MJF was shown watching closely from home. The 28-year-old has been absent from TV lately due to his Hollywood commitments, but he seems to be studying his opponent and looking for a weakness.
It's all but certain that the two will face off at Full Gear later this month. Adam Cole has never been able to defeat MJF in singles competition, but with his current momentum, he might be able to pull off an upset this time.
