AEW star MJF watched Adam Cole during his match on Fright Night Dynamite tonight from home. The latter faced Buddy Matthews on the flagship show of of the Jacksonville-based promotion.
The Salt of the Earth has huge history with The Panama City Playboy as they have been entangled with each other since last year. After overcoming initial animosity, both the stars developed a great friendship. They even main evented All In 2023 but things changed at the Worlds End Pay-Per-View as Cole revealed himself as The Devil.
In early 2024, both stars were absent for the majority of the time and interacted only once at the Double or Nothing PPV. At WrestleDream, while MJF was taking care of his past enemy Daniel Garcia, Adam Cole made his blockbuster return and confronted Maxwell. Also, for the next few Dynamite shows, the former AEW World Champion didn't confront him face-to-face.
As MJF knows very well by now, Adam Cole has been trying to get his hands on him, he has been talking to the latter from home. He also laid out a unique challenge stating that whoever between Adam Cole and Roderick Strong gets three victories in a row first, will get to face Friedman. In an attempt to face him, the recently returned star faced Buddy Matthews on tonight's Fright Night Dynamite.
The 35-year-old star was seemingly hesitant to give in his 100% efforts as he was scared to injure his ankle again. During the match, Maxwell was seen observing the contest closely from his home and didn't attend Dynamite this week too.
It will be interesting to see when the former American Champion returns to AEW Dynamite and confronts The Devil.
