MJF returned to AEW after a brief one-month hiatus to go back to business as usual, and he immediately launched an attack on a popular star. This would be Daniel Garcia.
Last month at All Out, both men faced off in a high-intensity match. This ended prematurely after Friedman got a three-count via a roll-up pin. Garcia wasn't satisfied with the finish, and the two went at it post-match, with The Wolf of Wrestling eating a piledriver from the middle rope.
Tonight, a chain of events took place following the AEW TNT Championship match between Jack Perry and Katsuyori Shibata. The former retained the title and launched an attack on the Japanese star. As it seemed he wasn't done, Daniel Garcia came out to his aid, sending Perry running.
It seemed all as well until MJF suddenly came out with his sights set on Daniel. With him distracted, Jack Perry came back into the ring and hit the latter with his belt. This left MJF with an opportunity to attack Garcia uninterrupted.
He cut a quick promo on him before revealing that he had found the Dynamite Diamond Ring that he had lost and even threatened to use it on him.
This was proof that things weren't over between the two, and a rubber match could take place sometime soon.
