Wrestling fans have been buzzing about the incredible Netflix debut of WWE RAW last night in LA. However, some fans have been claiming that Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin got a bigger pop than AEW's MJF or Orange Cassidy could ever get.
WWE presented Monday Night RAW's first episode on Netflix on January 6, and it was a star-studded show. Legends such as The Undertaker, John Cena, and Hulk Hogan were there but celebrities such as Travis Scott, Seth Green, Stephen Amell, and more were also in attendance. However, one of the biggest ovations of the night was for Macaulay Culkin, the star of the classic Home Alone movies.
On X (fka Twitter), fans noticed the pop for Macaulay Culkin and claimed that it was bigger than any ovation an AEW star ever got from the fans.
In the comments of the above post, a fan shared their reactions and called Culkin a better version of Orange Cassidy. Another said that MJF could never get a pop like the Hollywood star.
Meanwhile, other fans also noted that Macaulay Culkin got a bigger pop than WWE stars except for The Rock.
"He got one of the bigger pops of the night," a fan said.
"Man got a bigger pop than Hogan," another fan claimed.
"Hell, a bigger one than all of the wrestlers, besides The Rock LOL," a fan stated.
Vince Russo on Stone Cold's absence from WWE RAW on Netflix
Many fans expected to see Stone Cold Steve Austin return to WWE on RAW's premiere on Netflix. However, The Texas Rattlesnake's absence was surely felt by the fans. It was also reported that there were plans for Stone Cold's appearance on RAW but were later scrapped.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo said that Steve Austin might have some heat with WWE which could have led to his absence from the flagship show. He also raised questions about Stone Cold's relationship with Triple H.
"I make the point that with Steve, it’s not just about money. There’s gotta be some heat there. Because Steve, he doesn’t do these things. I gotta believe now it is not about money. He’s probably not happy about beer, he’s not happy with that, as now they are gonna sponsor Hogan’s beer. Who knows what his relationship is with Triple H. There is a lot more to it with Austin than just the money." [From 18:07 onwards]
Despite the absence of Stone Cold, the promotion still had a successful premiere of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. We will have to wait and see what exciting things Triple H has in store for the fans later this year.
