To the surprise of many, MJF has become a fighting champion in AEW. The Wolf of Wrestling, once proud of the fact that he competed as little as possible, is currently defending his American Championship around the world. He's taking on all challengers and is even open to facing a WWE legend in Shane McMahon.
Tony Khan's meeting with Shane McMahon turned the wrestling world on its head last week. The former WWE Superstar and the All Elite Chief were seen together in a photo that leaked to the internet, fueling speculation that Vince McMahon's son could soon find himself in AEW.
Speaking to Cultaholic's Jack King, MJF revealed that he was open to squaring off with Shane. However, he couldn't resist getting a dig in, claiming that he would feel bad for McMahon if the two went head-to-head:
"I think it would be bad for Shane McMahon's mental health to get in a ring with me, on a microphone or bell to bell. So my answer is yes because I would have the time of my f*cking life. But my answer, also just because I'm so salt of the earth, is I think for the first time in my career I'd feel bad," he said. [h/t Cultaholic]

MJF is going to extremes as AEW American Champion
Maxwell Jacob Friedman defeated Will Ospreay for the International Championship in a near-hour-long match at Dynamite 250 last month. He then rechristened the title the AEW American Championship and embarked on a patriotic mission to prove his country's superiority over the international wrestling community.
After defeating Templario in Arena Mexico, Maxwell headed to the UK to face Will Ospreay's friend and rival, RevPro's Michael Oku. Ahead of their match, the American Champion had some venomous remarks about England:
"Tonight in the land of neo nazis roaming the street and very poorly seasoned food. I vanquish another red coat terrorist in the name of liberty and justice for all. Why? Because I am a real American."
MJF managed to defend his title against Oku but was confronted once again by Ospreay after the match. The two are on a collision course for the American Championship at AEW All In on August 25.
