"Mox should return back to the WWE as Dean Ambrose" - Fans react to claims of Tony Khan wasting AEW stars in favor of Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley is the reigning AEW World Champion. He won the title by defeating The American Dragon Bryan Danielson at the 2024 WrestleDream PPV.

He has defended his championship only twice since he won it in October last year. His first title defence occurred at AEW Full Gear 2024 where he beat Orange Cassidy to retain the championship. His second title defense came at AEW Worlds End 2024, where he successfully defended his gold against Cassidy, Adam Page, and Jay White.

A fan on X recently questioned Jon Moxley's reign as the AEW World Champion. They claimed that there are other stars such as Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Hangman Page, Kazuchika Okada, and Swerve Strickland, who deserve the title run more than Mox, thereby insinuating that Tony Khan is wasting talents in his company to put over The One True King.

Some fans agreed with the claim and expressed dissatisfaction with Jon Moxley being the AEW World Champion.

"Tbh I don't think Mox needed a 4th title reign but yeaa godly roster being wasted ;w;" wrote a fan.

"I honestly think Mox should return back to the WWE as Dean Ambrose," said a user.

However many pointed out that The Purveyor of Violence has put a lot of effort over the past few years into uplifting AEW. Therefore, he completely deserves the title run.

"Don't do that.. mox is fantastic and deserves runs too.. but 100% these men are your top tier. All these men and Darby need a run," a person tweeted.

This person said, "People are quick to dismiss how much Moxley did for the company because of one bad storyline? Come on guys."

Jon Moxley was mentioned on WWE RAW

WWE entered a new era this week and broadcasted its first-ever RAW on Netflix show on Monday. The show's main event featured Seth Rollins in a singles match against CM Punk, which the latter won.

During Punk's entrance, Michael Cole name-dropped Dean Ambrose (Moxley's name in WWE) and The Shield. Before becoming a violent force in WWE, Rollins, Ambrose, and Roman Reigns served as mercenaries for the former AEW star.
