The latest edition of Dynamite recapped Konosuke Takeshita's successful International Title defense against Josh Alexander at MLP Forged in Excellence, as well as Ricochet's rescue of The Walking Weapon after The Alpha launched a post-match assault on him. In a backstage interview on the Wednesday night show, The Human Highlight Reel called out Takeshita again and invited him to a confrontation on AEW Rampage.
Ricochet's interview would then be interrupted by Shelton Benjamin and MVP. The Franchise Playa alluded to the two stars' past history in WWE, where The Highlight of The Night feuded with The Hurt Business in 2020. However, acknowledging they were both in a new company, MVP offered to work with Ricochet with a clean slate and handed him a Hurt Syndicate card.
