New World Champion crowned on AEW Dynamite

A top AEW star won a world championship on tonight's episode of Dynamite. The star who won the title is Chris Jericho and he captured the ROH World Championship. This is the veteran's ninth world championship.

The former AEW World Champion has been one of the best veterans the company has to offer. He was the face of the company in 2019 when he became the inaugural AEW World Champion. He won his second world championship in 2022 after he defeated Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship.

Chris Jericho inserted himself into the world title picture after he pinned Mark Briscoe, the former champion. At WrestleDream, Le Champion failed to capture the championship. However, Jericho immediately issued a challenge for a rematch as he claimed that Mark Briscoe cheated to emerge victorious in the match. Later, the bout was stipulated to be a ladder match.

On tonight's Dynamite, both the stars battled each other in an entertaining contest. In the closing stages of the match, while the champion was on the verge of retaining the title, Big Bill interfered and helped Jericho become a two-time ROH World Champion.

After calling himself The Ocho after eight world title wins, maybe he will now call himself The Neuve. It will be interesting to see who steps up and challenges the reigning world champion for a title match next.
