The SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis sent a message to AEW for constantly taking shots at the WWE. Aldis thinks a war has been declared between the two promotions.

Nick Aldis was appointed as the General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown last year after having successful runs as a wrestler in multiple promotions like TNA and NWA. Aldis has been very impressive in his role as the on-screen authority figure until now as well.

Speaking on Gorilla Position recently, Aldis expressed his views on Tony Khan's promotion constantly taking shots at the WWE. The SmackDown GM stated that it is silly on AEW's part and compared it to geopolitics as well:

"They [AEW] have made it very clear that they are sort of coming at WWE right? On a number of occasions they've sort of you know and I personally think the whole sort of war thing is just... is silly, I think it's silly on their part. But I think that if you sort of liken it to geopolitics for example it's like if someone's declared a war on you right, like you're sort of you know, it's not like you're going to just sort of throw their name around willy-nilly right?" Nick Aldis on how WWE responds to AEW's shots

The SmackDown GM, also disclosed why WWE mostly avoids responding to the shots AEW takes at them. Nick Aldis revealed that the Stamford-based promotion doesn't unnecessarily "poke the bear."

"So, I think it's sort of like, they've sort of been hostile at times and I think from the company's point of view, it's just kind of like, 'well, we don't want to poke the bear right necessarily, it's not like a sort of we're not looking for that." [From 20:03 to 20:23]

Meanwhile, some stars of both the major wrestling promotions continue to fire shots at each other. It remains to be seen what both the companies have in store as the competition goes on.
