A recent report has stated that talks between CM Punk and WWE have hit a dead-end, and they were not looking to bring him in. Fans did not believe this report and still speculated how a move to WWE would still be possible.
After his release a month ago, the most probable move for the Straight Edge Superstar was a return to WWE, leading to fans' speculation. With many recent teases of his return, the rumors have grown regarding scenarios where Punk could appear.
A report from Wrestling Observer Radio stated that talks between WWE and CM Punk were "dead." Considering the sudden change, fans did not immediately believe this to be true, and others even thought this was not credible.

Fans thought of this "reverse psychology," believing that this might mean that CM Punk's WWE could be happening. They claimed that the promotion may just be hiding that it could be in the works.
One even mentioned that this return could happen by Survivor Series.
Some fans immediately thought of Cody Rhodes, as in the past, the reports of him going to WWE were also said to be "dead," but the American Nightmare returned at WrestleMania last year.
Fans believe this could just be "Smoke and Mirrors," just like what happened to Rhodes, and he would still make a return.
Dutch Mantell predicts CM Punk will go for one more run in WWE
Following heavy speculations that CM Punk would go to WWE, former manager Dutch Mantell gave his thoughts on how likely this would happen.
On his Storytime with Dutch Mantell podcast, he predicted that everyone would get to see the former AEW World Champion within a year and a half, and that would begin his final run with WWE.
He predicted this would be due to Punk going all out and having a proper close to his career.
"I predicted he'd go. He's not gonna go. But, I am gonna go on record by saying - I think we will see him, CM Punk, within a year and a half. Because, and I have sped that up a little bit - I think he has one final run in WWE, that they can make special. I really do. And if they got around him and he wants to go out on top, this is the last match ever, you know, in WWE, I think they'd have to say that. I think they can make that special one run and I think it's coming up in around a year and a half," Mantell said.
With a particular generation of wrestlers reaching the last stages of their careers, now would be the perfect time to go out with a bang, similar to what Adam Copeland is trying to do with AEW. Punk could very much do the same should he and WWE find an agreement.
