AEW star Orange Cassidy is certainly one of the most prominent names on the roster, but even he has received criticism for his style. However, Cassidy does not seem too perturbed by this.

The 40-year-old star has one of the most unique gimmicks in the business. His character is that of an unbothered wrestler who seems to stay calm even in the most tense of situations. Furthermore, he is often seen beating opponents with both his hands in his pockets, as a show of his confidence.

However, this has garnered some criticism from veterans like WWE legend Road Dogg. Speaking with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, Orange Cassidy stated:

"Very much so... Some of those old-school wrestler types say that I am not respecting the business or respecting professional wrestling. I tend to think they have never seen me wrestle, and they don't know what they are talking about." [4:07 onwards]

Orange Cassidy also talked about his gimmick's origins

One of Orange Cassidy's signature moves is putting his hands in his pockets and still taking down his opponent. The gimmick's origins are quite interesting, going by the AEW star's words.

In the same interview with Sportskeeda's Bill Apter, Cassidy stated:

"I was in a match on the indies in Beyond Wrestling, and somebody was like mocking me, and kinda like trying to get in my head or whatever you know. Basically saying I can't wrestle, whatever it is. So I said okay, I can beat you with my hands in my pockets. And I put my hands in my pocket and I did it." [2:56 onwards]

Orange recently lost the AEW World Championship match he had against Jon Moxley at Full Gear, but not because of a lack of effort. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what he does next.
