Since its formation five years ago, All Elite Wrestling has cemented its position as WWE's top competitor despite its ups and downs. Jonathan Coachman might not be a big fan of the work of some AEW talents, including Mercedes Mone, but he still admitted to having many friends in the promotion.

The former WWE commentator exclusively spoke to Sportskeeda's Bill Apter and said he appreciated that Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling constantly keep trying to put up a product that can draw the fans' attention and more money in the process. Coachman has been singing MJF's praises in recent weeks, and he has doubled down on his respect for Friedman while speaking to Apter. But why does the Coach love The Wolf of Wrestling so much? He explained below:

"I still have a lot of friends in AEW that I really, really have a lot of affection for. I love the fact that they continue to try. I've been very open about how big of a fan I am of MJF. When you look at MJF, you see a guy that buys into the character." [From 06:05 to 06:21]

Jonathan Coachman on AEW's existence in pro wrestling

As noted above, All Elite Wrestling has experienced phases of extreme success and times when negative stories have threatened to derail the company's momentum.

As an alternative, however, AEW's survival might be critical to the overall health of the wrestling business. Jonathan Coachman was fine with Jacksonville-based company being around, as the organization offers lucrative contracts to its talents.

Coachman would never be against more opportunities for people to make money in wrestling and believed All Elite Wrestling, despite its flaws, was a much-needed part of pro wrestling.

"But in AEW, they are trying and as long as they are trying, competition is good and they are paying top dollar for a lot of people. So, if you can make money, god bless them," The Coach said. [From 08:13 to 08:21]
