Paul Heyman is an individual who has made a lot of connections after decades in the wrestling business. Just moments ago, he sent a message to a popular AEW name while SmackDown was on the air.
Jim Ross is someone with whom Heyman was also too familiar. In the late 80s to early 90s, the two worked together for the first time on the commentary desk of WCW. The Wiseman has been vocal about Ross' impact on his career, as his mentorship has helped him a lot.
On X/Twitter, Paul Heyman sent out his greeting for Jim Ross, who was celebrating his 73rd birthday. He posted a picture of them working commentary for WWF in the early 2000s as Heyman filled in for Jerry 'The King' Lawler, who had to leave the company for a while.
"Happy Birthday JR!" Heyman wrote.

Paul Heyman gave a shout-out to Jim Ross during his WWE Hall of Fame speech
The veteran was inducted into the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class, which many felt was long overdue given his many contributions to the company over the years.
During his speech, he did not forget to look back at those who helped him, as he namedropped Jim Ross. As of now, the legendary commentator is signed with AEW and mostly makes appearances on the desk during their pay-per-view events.
Heyman alluded to their time working together in WCW and how they formed a duo. Ross even reacted to this on X/Twitter and gave him a heartfelt show of support.
Despite dealing with some health issues, which forced him to become more inactive on the commentary desk, Jim Ross was still someone whose impact on the industry could not be put into words. Paul Heyman and a lot of individuals can attest to this.
