A top WWE Superstar recently shared a picture of Bryan Danielson following his retirement. The star being discussed is Shawn Spears.

The Chairman was among one of AEW's early signings. He was known for his time in the Pinnacle faction. After having a decent run in the Tony Khan-based promotion, he left the company in December 2023 and arrived in WWE's NXT in February 2024. Despite being a top veteran on the brand, he hasn't wrestled since July 2024.

He recently paid tribute to Bryan Danielson on social media after the latter retired as a full-time wrestler at the WrestleDream Pay-Per-View. The former AEW World Champion lost to Jon Moxley in the show's main event. Following the match, he was brutally attacked by PAC, Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli. He was reportedly hospitalized following the show. AEW recently acknowledged his career's end.

Shawn Spears took to X/Twitter and posted a picture of him with Bryan Danielson from a past WWE show.

Bryan Danielson was taken to the hospital following WrestleDream

Moments after Jon Moxley captured the AEW World Championship, Bryan was choked out by Wheeler Yuta with a plastic bag while Claudio Castagnoli attacked his neck. He was later stretchered out of the arena as his neck was hurt. The finish will lead to him being off television for months and the start of his part-time career. He was also supposedly in need of neck surgery for months.

During the press conference following WrestleDream, Tony Schiavone revealed that The American Dragon had been sent to the hospital due to the scary series of events following the main event. Schiavone also disclosed that Tony Khan accompanied him there and therefore the AEW President didn't attend the media event.

It remains to be seen when the former AEW World Champion will return to AEW and get his revenge on Jon Moxley, who recently captured the top prize for the fourth time.
