AEW star MJF has been flying high ever since capturing the American Championship last week. He was recently spotted with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
At the most recent AEW Dynamite, The Wolf of Wrestling renamed the International Championship to the AEW American Championship by introducing a new design for the title. He also seemingly changed his gimmick to an 'American Hero' type persona. Friedman is set to defend the title against Will Ospreay at the All In 2024 event.
On his X (Twitter) account, Maxwell Jacob Friedman shared a photograph with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and wrote a sarcastic quote with the picture.
"We want YOU to stop supporting U.K. Invaders! #AmericanHero"
MJF recently spoke about having a rematch against Will Ospreay at the AEW All In
Despite the match between Will Ospreay and MJF for the American Championship being made official for All In, The Salt of the Earth previously stated that he has no interest in having a rematch against the Aerial Assassin.
Speaking in an interview with The Wrestling Classic, the former AEW World Champion spoke about defeating Will Ospreay in record time and stated that he intends on becoming a Double Champion in the future.
"Why would I wrestle a guy I beat so handily? That doesn't even make any sense. I literally beat him in record time. I mean... yeah, if somebody tries to pitch that to me... there’s no reality that match is happening again. I beat him, I now have this title. I’m gonna make this title mean more than any title that exists in all of professional wrestling, and when I'm done doing that, I intend on becoming a double champion," [From 08:23 to 08:48]
MJF will be defending the AEW American Championship against Will Ospreay at All-In. It will be interesting to see if The Salt of the Earth decides to go after Swerve Strickland after All-In.
