A popular actor is open to signing with AEW. This actor recently ventured into professional wrestling. The Jacksonville-based promotion has been a destination for several non-wrestling stars to make appearances.

Paul Walter Hauser is a popular actor who has appeared in several films and TV shows. He started his movie career in 2010 with Virginia and has acted in over 20 movies to date. Some of his more popular movies include I, Tonya, Silk Road, Cruella, and Inside Out 2. However, he has recently tried his hand at a new type of career. Paul Walter started his professional wrestling career by stepping into the ring against Matthew Palmer in 2023. He then went on to compete against Matt Cardona and Sami Callihan and even picked up the win against both of them.

During a recent interview with The Wrap, Paul Walter Hauser spoke about his newfound career and said that after his match against Matt Cardona, he wouldn't mind wrestling a couple of times a year.

“After my first match with Matthew Palmer, I told my wife, ‘You know, I’ll probably do this three, four times a year — quarterly. And then after the Matt Cardona match, I think I said to my wife, ‘You know, I’m probably going to do a half a dozen a year. I would love to be able to wrestle on average, maybe 10 times a year or even once a month on average. If it’s more than that, I would just have to make sure that I’m having enough time with my family, I’m getting paid enough to justify that.”

He further added that he would consider signing a contract with AEW, TNA, or MLW.

“If TNA or AEW or MLW wanted to sign me, I would literally take that into consideration to be part of a contracted role somewhere." [H/T Fightful]

Paul Walter Hauser feels he wouldn't fit in with AEW due to their new slogan

AEW has been a stomping ground for some of the best professional wrestlers from around the world such as Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay. Hence, the company recently adopted the new slogan "where the best wrestle".

During the same interview, Paul Hauser explained that he wouldn't fit into the company due to this new slogan since he is not one of the best.

“It’s tough with AEW right now, because their slogan has become, ‘where the best wrestle.’ And while I think I’m a very good actor-turned-wrestler and I’m doing it for real, there’s no way I’m one of the best.” [H/T Fightful]

It will be interesting to see if Paul Walter Hauser ends up signing a contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion, TNA, or even MLW.
