After being out of in-ring competition for 22 months, female AEW star Tay Melo is set to return to action next month. Melo signed with the promotion in 2020.
In 2023, Tay Melo had to step away from in-ring competition due to her pregnancy. She and Sammy Guevara welcomed their first child on November 28, 2023. The AEW star has been fighting to get back into the squared circle since and is finally set to return to action.
It was recently announced that Tay Melo will be returning to the ring at STARDOM's New Year Dream event on January 3rd. She is set to team up with Mina Shirakawa to face Thekla and current Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, Athena.

AEW star Tay Melo on challenges she faced in getting back to the ring
Tay Melo has been on a hiatus from AEW and the female star has faced some difficult challenges in training for her return to the squared circle. Melo gave birth in November 2023 and has been working hard since for her in-return.
Earlier this year in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Tay Melo shared the patience she had to keep to get back into the ring. She also spoke about her frustrations and how she's aiming to get stronger every day.
"So happy to be able to be in the ring again. With a lot of patience I’ll get ready to be back, it’s a whole new body & I still feel so [weak] inside.. I got frustrated a couple times, had to hold my tears and keep going. My body was my baby’s home for 40 weeks and now I’ll get stronger not just for me but for her too. It’s a long way to go but I’m closer than yesterday," Tay Melo shared.
The fans will have to wait and see when Tay Melo makes her return to All Elite Wrestling television.
