Popular AEW star suffers defeat in wrestling return after 664 days

A former WWE and current AEW star made her in-ring return after nearly two years and suffered defeat in her return match. The star has not been active on All Elite television since 2023.

The popular AEW star in question is none other than Tay Melo. She was a part of the WWE roster from 2017 to 2020 under the name "Taynara Conti." She has been in All Elite Wrestling since 2020 but has been absent from TV due to personal reasons since the beginning of 2023.

Tay Melo last wrestled at the NEW Wrestlefest event in March 2023, where she teamed with her husband, Sammy Guevara. Tay finally made her in-ring return after 660+ days at the STARDOM New Year Dream event. Melo teamed with Mina Shirakawa to take on the team of Thekla and the current ROH Women's World Champion, Athena.

Athena was also making her STARDOM debut, and she pinned Tay Melo at the end to secure the win alongside Thekla in the tag team match. Melo unfortunately suffered a defeat in her return match after March 2023.

AEW star sent a message before her in-ring return

The AEW star, Tay Melo, sent out an emotional message talking about her in-ring return after nearly two years. In an emotional social media message, Melo broke down in tears speaking about her in-ring return to Japan.

"After two long years, I'm finally back. I could not ask for a better Christmas gift. I'm going to Japan. I'm going to STARDOM. And I'm not going alone. Because, I'm bringing my little me with me. Happy Holidays to you all, Thankyou soo much for all the support and I see you all on January 3rd in Japan."

Meanwhile, fans have been waiting for Tay Melo's return to All Elite Wrestling for a long time. Only time will tell when she will be back on TV permanently.
