A 31-year-old name has issued a statement after suddenly departing a popular promotion just a couple of weeks after facing Mercedes Mone in AEW. The performer in question is Stephanie Vaquer, who left CMLL and relinquished her CMLL Women's Title and the Women's Tag Team Titles she held with Zeuxis.

Vaquer put up a stunning act at the recent AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III on June 30th, where she faced Mercedes Mone for both the TBS and NJPW Women's Strong Title. Despite falling short at the last moment, she got the fans rooting for her to win the gold. Following the show, fans began clamoring to see her become a regular in AEW.

A few hours back, CMLL announced that Stephanie Vaquer was announced to be leaving the promotion. This was followed by reports of her potential next destination, with rumors suggesting she could choose WWE over AEW.

Now, the 31-year-old performer has herself released a statement about her unexpected exit from CMLL and NJPW. Check out her tweet below:

"At this moment I stop belonging to the ranks of CMLL and NJPW. Clarify, I AM LEAVING THROUGH THE BIG DOOR, forever grateful to the WORLD WRESTLING COUNCIL AND NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING, and in the best terms," wrote Vaquer.

Stephanie Vaquer challenged Mercedes Mone to a rematch

Following her match with Mercedes Mone, Stephanie Vaquer was quick to call Mercedes Mone for a rematch down the line. The popular star explained that she was willing to learn from her mistakes and come back stronger to challenge Mone.

"I represented the NJPW Strong [Women's] Title all around the world, and I did it with my heart. Today, Mercedes beat me. She’s a great opponent but I’ll learn from my mistake. This is not the last time you see Stephanie Vaquer because I’ll be back and I want my rematch."

Considering rumors suggest Vaquer is heading to WWE, a rematch against The CEO could become a distant possibility in such a case.
