Sting has ended his career on a high note in AEW, but the question of a potential return never fades. A veteran recently commented on the topic, sharing his honest thoughts.
The Icon has had an illustrious career, capping it off at Revolution with his retirement match. There is understandably not much that Sting hasn't seen in the business. Even at 65, he regularly executed risky spots in AEW and has some of the most intense matches on the card. As of now, he is retired from in-ring action. His last match was on March 3, 2024, at Revolution, where he and Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks in a Tornado tag team match, retaining the World Tag Team Championship.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, WCW veteran and All Elite Wrestling producer/coach Ray Lloyd stated:
"To me, I think Sting has proved all he needs to prove you know, to the wrestling world, to himself. I think he seems to be in a good place. I saw him recently when we were doing the tapings in Arlington, Texas. And he just seems to be in a good place. I think he is enjoying being where he is right now. I mean, he couldn't have asked for a better send-off than what he got that Tony Khan and AEW gave him." [14:36 onwards]
For now, only time will tell whether AEW veteran Sting will come back for one more run.
