AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs took to his Twitter/X account on Wednesday (April 18) to respond to Jon Moxley's challenge to The Don Callis Family member on the recent episode of Dynamite.
Moxley returned to AEW TV this past Wednesday on Dynamite, where he cut a promo and called out The Don Callis Family for their vicious attack on former world champion Bryan Danielson on the recent episode of Collision. The Lunatic Fringe turned his sights on Powerhouse Hobbs and challenged the former TNT Champion for a one-on-one match on next week's edition of Dynamite.
"Which brings me to my point, The Don Callis Family. Some very, very talented individuals have gotten themselves in league with this Don Callis. Don Calls is a creep! I have no time for this Don Callis; he is feeding them lies, and they are buying that. And what is worse, over the weekend, these guys put a hit out and tried to injure my friend, my teammate Bryan Danielson. Now, if you are gonna put a target on Bryan's back, you might as well put a target on mine. You guys wanna be violent; you wanna be tough guys, Well, you are welcome to come find me. I will be here all night. But I suspect, maybe, I am not your type," he said.
Hobbs replied with equal venom on X.
"You ain’t never met a M**R like me," Hobbs replied.
The Purveyor of Violence is on an incredible run at the moment. The former WWE Superstar recently won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and became the only wrestler to win a World Championship in AEW, WWE, and NJPW.
Medical Officers had to check Bryan Danielson after the vicious Powerhouse Hobbs assault
It all started when Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher on an episode of Collision. Their victory celebrations were interrupted by Powerhouse Hobbs, who delivered a devastating Brain Buster to Bryan. The American Dragon required medical attention in the end.
The entire idea of the match was to soften up the BCC for the "Golden Goose" of The Don Callis Family, Wil Ospreay.
The upcoming match between the Lunatic Fringe and Hobbs could be one for the ages, with Hobbs known for his strong style and Moxley famous for never stopping trying to win. It will be interesting to see how the encounter plays out next week.
