AEW star Ricky Starks has been absent from television since March 2024. However, he has been pretty active on social media. Meanwhile, WWE star Jade Cargill recently dropped an interesting comment on his Instagram post.
Stroke Daddy's contract status with AEW has been one of the hot topics in professional wrestling. WWE is rumored to be interested in The Absolute star. However, Tony Khan recently confirmed that the 34-year-old was still under contract with the promotion.
However, Ricky Starks seems to be enjoying his time away from professional wrestling. Recently, he posted several photos on Instagram and shared an interesting quote.
"I found the secret to happiness: minding ya f’n [sic] business!" he wrote.
Later, Jade Cargill left a comment on the post:
''Hey, put on some clothes!''
Vince Russo believes Ricky Starks' AEW character isn't convincing
Ricky Starks often gets compared to The Rock due to his incredible mic skills. However, All Elite Wrestling has failed to capitalize on Starks' popularity, and this could lead to his departure from the company.
In a recent episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, WWE veteran Vince Russo claimed that Stroke Daddy's character was no different from other wrestlers. He said that the Absolute star needed to do something unique to convince him.
"It's exactly what EC3 is saying, bro. Wrestlers are a dime a dozen, bro. Great wrestlers are a dime a dozen. For somebody like me, you just gotta give me more than that, bro. And the time that I did see him on AEW, I... What are you gonna tell me your character is, bro, you're a cocky wrestler? Everybody is a cocky wrestler, bro. You gotta give me more than that, man!" he said. [2:23 onwards]
Ricky Starks will reportedly start on the NXT brand after his rumored WWE move. We will have to wait and see if Tony Khan grants him his release in the coming months.
