Former TNT Champion Adam Copeland made his surprising return at AEW Worlds End PPV. The Rated-R Superstar has revealed the reason behind his delayed return.
Earlier this year at the AEW Double or Nothing, Adam Copeland faced Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match for the TNT Championship. During the match, the former Edge jumped off the top of the cage on Malakai Black and landed on his feet resulting in him breaking his Tibia.
At last night's Worlds End PPV, Adam Copeland made his surprising return to the company after the main event four-way match for the AEW World Championship. The Rated-R Superstar arrived with FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and stood up to Jon Moxley and The Death Riders.
During the post-Worlds End PPV press conference, Copeland confirmed that he's been cleared to return for a while but due to his area getting hit by a hurricane, his return was delayed. The veteran explained the problems they had to face due to the issue but is ready to return to the mix in All Elite Wrestling.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
"I’ve actually been cleared for a while, but Tony [Khan] and I had a conversation and our area got hit by a hurricane. It was much more important to be home. We just got the water boil advisory lifted three weeks ago. We’ve been using bottled water to brush our teeth and wash our hands for close to three months. When real life hits like that, something like this has to take second place... In terms of being back and ready, I’m ready to go. Every month for me, at this stage, feels like a year. I have to get in and get cooking." [From 24:47 to 25:25]

Adam Copeland on getting injured at AEW Double or Nothing
During the same presser, Adam Copeland spoke about breaking his leg at Double or Nothing. The AEW star acknowledged that he tries to go out of his way sometimes but realizes that he's closer to the end of his career than the beginning:
"It’s one of those deals where, if you watch my career, it’s not out of my character to do insane things. It’s kind of what I do, every once in a while. I’ll get a hair up my a** and decide, ‘Yeah, I’m going to dive through a flaming table, sure.’ That’s just me. I also think it’s part of why I’ve gotten to where I’ve gotten. That being said, I realize I’m closer to the tail end of my career than the beginning, and I have kids now, so there is a different mindset that goes into it. In terms of recovery, I’m still lucky in that I recover like Wolverine. Part of that is, I just go after it. The day I can go after it is the day I do it."
The fans will have to wait and see what Tony Khan has in store for the newly formed Rated FTR.
