Despite being key players on the AEW roster, the Young Bucks were notably absent from Worlds End 2024. The All Elite EVPs have now explained why they were missing from the December 28 pay-per-view.

Matthew and Nicholas Jackson were dethroned by Private Party for their AEW World Tag Team Championship at Fright Night Dynamite last year. After the bout, the duo seemingly broke character and handed the belts to Zay and Quen. Later in the same show, they were seen frantically leaving the arena, planning to work from home indefinitely, and have not been featured on All Elite programming since then.

Viewers of AEW believe that The Bucks made their storyline hasty departure from television to escape the carnage of Jon Moxley and The Death Riders.

However, in a recent interview with Tunnel Talk, The Jackson Brothers revealed that they did not appear at the Tony Khan-led promotion's final pay-per-view of last year, Worlds End 2024, to spend the holidays with their family and loved ones.

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

“It has been nice, I have to admit. The family, the kids [in particular], they love this time of year because they know Daddy’s home for at least four to six weeks,” said Nicholas Jackson.

Matthew Jackson further discussed having missed out on time with his kin due to their career commitments, stating:

“We’ve spent so many years just missing so many things, especially the build up to the holidays with the decorating and the shopping, so it’s been fun to actually be so involved in that stuff again... Unfortunately, we’ve had to miss a few AEW shows because of it but it’s been great. We are at that point in our career too where it’s like, ‘they can have a couple of shows without us.’” [H/T - Wrestletalk]

Speculations suggest that The Young Bucks might oppose The Death Riders and their violent ways upon making their return.

AEW EVPs The Young Bucks nearly made a drastic change to reinvent their gimmick

After returning to All Elite Wrestling last year, the Young Bucks significantly improved their act, turning heel and adopting the persona of villainous Executive Vice Presidents. During the same interview with Tunnel Talk, Matthew Jackson disclosed that he wanted to push their character transformation further and suggested that they retire their iconic Superkicks.

However, his brother Nicholas supposedly reminded him that the move was indispensable to their wrestling identity.

“I even wanted to lean more into the EVP stuff. Like, I told Nick, ‘I don’t want to do a Superkick ever again,’ and he fought me on that—and he won the fight. I was like, ‘When we come back, I never want to do one ever again,’ and he’s just like, ‘That’s our thing. Why would we stop doing it,'” Matthew Jackson said.

It remains to be seen when The Bucks will show up next on AEW programming.
