Legendary journalist Bill Apter recently shared his thoughts about the show by AEW, ROH Final Battle. According to him, it had the atmosphere of a classic ECW program.
The show being discussed took place on December 20, 2024. The card was as stacked as possible, with names like Chris Jericho and Dustin Rhodes involved. In addition, the venue (Manhattan Center's Hammerstein Ballroom) was historic enough to lend to the ambiance.
Speaking about his experience watching the show, Bill Apter brought up his recollections of watching ECW. The veteran journalist stated on The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis:
"It was a smaller venue than their big arenas. They packed the place. The fans, like I said, were crazy, and it had that whole, it was an AEW show with an ECW feel to it. It was great. Both nights were excellent." [2:06 onwards]

The veteran also commented on the end of AEW Rampage
Rampage, which had been part of the programming from 2021, ended its weekly shows on December 27, 2024. According to Bill Apter, another All Elite show may fill the slot.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, the legendary journalist stated that Tony Khan may be planning to add another show to the schedule that does not focus on in-ring wrestling itself. He said:
"If I remember right, there's gonna be some other like documentary type of shows on AEW also under their banner. I know WWE is doing that, too. Or maybe they are making space to introduce Ring of Honor on that same channel."
For now, only time will tell what Tony Khan plans to do to improve his brand this year.
