A recent photo of Kenny Omega has surfaced online amid his AEW hiatus and it is safe to say that he is looking fit and healthy. This is an encouraging sign as far as his return is concerned.
Omega has not been active in the ring since December of last year when he wrestled Ethan Page. He was diagnosed with diverticulitis after that and had to undergo treatment to get better.
Omega made his brief return on the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite when he spoke to the fans about his absence and how he was lucky to be alive. He was then taken out by Jack Perry and has been out indefinitely since then.
A new picture of Kenny Omega has now emerged, and he looks fresh and fit. This could be a good sign as he looks forward to making a comeback to the ring. It will be great to see the former AEW World Champion come back soon.
Dave Meltzer not sure about date for Kenny Omega’s return
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has kept up with Kenny Omega's progress as he recovers from diverticulitis. The veteran journalist recently claimed that he's unsure about when The Best Bout Machine could return to action.
He touched on Omega’s situation when speaking about the return of his friend, Kota Ibushi. Omega and Ibushi have been away from the ring for a while, and Meltzer said that Ibushi will return around the same time as Omega.
He was speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio when he said:
"He’s (Ibushi) coming back to AEW, basically when Kenny Omega returns he’s returning. I don’t know if there’s even a date for when Omega’s going to return, I don’t think it’s so far away as before… He’s getting better, I know that."
A return for Omega and Ibushi with them going after the Elite will be great for the fans to witness. AEW is in desperate need of a change from the Elite’s rule.
