A recently signed AEW star has seemingly teased a huge career-altering possibility for Swerve Strickland. The talent in question is none other than Shelton Benjamin.
After weeks of speculation surrounding the prospect of a Hurt Business re-union in All Elite Wrestling, the Tony Khan-led promotion shocked fans with the debut of MVP on Dynamite: Grand Slam last week. The Franchise Playa interrupted Prince Nana's update on Swerve Strickland, praising the latter while calling his manager's competence into question, and left the former AEW World Champion his business card. This card seemingly teased the imminent arrival of The Hurt Syndicate.
This week, on the Fifth Anniversary edition of Dynamite, Nana called out MVP to settle things in the squared circle but was instead introduced to the latter's new business partner, Shelton Benjamin. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion had a tense exchange with Nana before tasting his coffee and leaving with The Ballin' Superstar.
Taking it to X/Twitter recently, Prince Nana posted a picture of MVP and Benjamin. He lashed out at the duo over their interaction with him on AEW Dynamite this week. The Gold Standard's response to the tweet suggested that he and MVP could plan to pull the 45-year-old manager's client, Swerve Strickland, from him and recruit the latter as a member of The Hurt Syndicate.

"🤣😂😂 @The305MVP he thinks coffee is all we’re taking from him," wrote Benjamin.

Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley have both reportedly signed with AEW
During Sportskeeda WrestleBinge's recent Q&A session with Wrestlevotes, a fan had asked about the likelihood of former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley officially making his rumored AEW debut at or before the company's upcoming pay-per-view, WrestleDream 2024. Wrestlevotes responded by confessing ignorance concerning The All Mighty's contract status, albeit claiming that he was headed to All Elite Wrestling and that the timing of his debut would be Tony Khan's call.
A new report from Fightful Select, on the heels of this week's episode of Dynamite, has now claimed that both Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley are signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion and that the two men, along with MVP, had decided on an agreement with the company several weeks ago. Furthermore, the update noted that Lashley's All Elite debut is "impending," suggesting it could be a matter of time before The Destroyer appears on All Elite Wrestling programming alongside MVP and Benjamin.
It remains to be seen if The Hurt Syndicate's first major program in AEW will be with Swerve Strickland.
