A former WWE Superstar has gotten the fans to rally behind him in AEW. Now, they want him to receive a big push from the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Big Bill got his big break in WWE where he spent several years in a tag team with Enzo Amore. During this time, fans didn't get to see his true potential. After their team split, Bill had a meaningless run in the company and was eventually released in 2018.
He then worked his way up and joined AEW in 2022. For the past several months, he has been doing some great work for the promotion as part of Chris Jericho's stable, The Learning Tree. He has also improved his in-ring skills which was evident when he faced Cope (fka Adam Copeland) this week on Collision. Although Bill lost the match, his performance didn't go unnoticed.

Following the match, fans have taken to social media to rally behind Big Bill with many of them wanting to see him get a push from the Jacksonville-based company. He reminded some fans of former WWE Superstar Test, while some others felt he should go after his mentor Chris Jericho's ROH World Championship. However, some also felt that his size was too big for Tony Khan's liking.

Big Bill says MJF was responsible for his AEW debut
Big Bill's AEW debut took place on the May 4, 2022, episode of Dynamite when he faced Wardlow. He lost the match in just five minutes, but his performance was enough for Tony Khan to bring him in sporadically, before eventually signing him to a contract. This turned out to be a good decision as he has come a long way since then.
During a recent interview on the Talk is Jericho podcast, Big Bill said that it was QT Marshall and MJF who reached out to him to see if he was willing to work against Wardlow.
“I’m like, ‘What the heck is this?’ It was QT [Marshall] reaching out and MJF reaching out, and they were asking if I could do this match with Wardlow. I said, ‘Yeah. Why not? This is a good opportunity.’ I don’t know if maybe they thought I was going to be afraid to do a job. I don’t know. Who gives a f***? Winning, losing, who cares man,” he said. [H/T: PWMania]
In hindsight, it was probably a great decision when Big Bill jumped at the opportunity to debut in AEW because it has done wonders for his career.
