Darby Allin will put his AEW World Championship shot on the line against Jon Moxley on this week's Dynamite special episode Grand Slam. The former WWE manager Jim Cornette commented on the upcoming match in his recent podcast.

In July, the former tag team champion participated in the AEW World Title Number One Contendership Royal Rampage and won the match to earn himself a title shot against Bryan Danielson. He was scheduled to face the champion at the Grand Slam, but The American Dragon is on the shelf. Jon Moxley and his new stable attacked the latter at All Out 2024.

Speaking on his Drive Thru podcast, Jim Cornette predicted the result of the Moxley vs Allin match which will take place on Dynamite: Grand Slam. He believes The Purveyor of Violence will win and advance to face Bryan, thus continuing their budding rivalry.

"It has to be Moxley, doesn’t it? Because, didn’t he put just a plastic bag over the godda** champion’s f**king head?"

Eddie Kingston comments on Jon Moxley's new heel character

Eddie Kingston recently had an interview with The DaVINci Report, discussing Jon Moxley's recent character development. He stated he had no idea what was going on with the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

They apparently used to text each other regularly once or twice a week to share memes on Instagram, but now they haven't contacted each other for three or four months.

"I don't know what's going on with [Jon Moxley]. I haven't talked to him in three or four months. I don't know what's going on with him with this whole Darby [Allin] thing. I knew something was up because we text each other at least once or twice a week, just funny stuff, nothing about wrestling. A funny meme or a stupid Instagram thing, just to make each other laugh. He's doing his thing. I have nothing against what he's doing. [I'm] not needed right now, I don't think," the former ROH World Champion said.

The Mad King is currently out of action due to multiple injuries that he suffered in a No Ropes Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence.
