Rey Fenix recently voiced his frustration with AEW and Tony Khan. He has now deleted those tweets.
Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo were one of the most entertaining tag teams when they burst onto the scene in AEW. They found plenty of success during their first few years with the company, becoming World Tag Team and World Trios Champions, with Fenix also capturing the International Championship once.
However, the duo has not been featured in many proper storylines in the past year. Their poor booking led fans to believe that they would leave AEW for WWE once their contracts expired.
When Penta's contract expired, he was able to leave and become a free agent. However, the same cannot be said of Fenix. Tony Khan has prevented him from leaving the company by adding additional injury time to his contract, which has now been extended.

Hence, Fenix took to social media to allege that he was mistreated by his employer. He also claimed that he was ignored when he needed a doctor. Since then, the AEW star has deleted those tweets but his future is still not known at this point.
What was WWE's backstage reaction to Rey Fenix's tweets?
Rey Fenix's tweets, which seemed to fire shots at Tony Khan and AEW, came out of left field and were so uncharacteristic of him that it caught a lot of people off guard. Many critics and fans have since given their thoughts on it. Even some people backstage had an interesting reaction to the tweets.
During a recent Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, Wrestlevotes said that WWE was surprised to see the tweets from Fenix. While they hadn't lost interest in the luchador, they were going to investigate the situation.
"Hearing that there were those in the WWE that were surprised [yesterday] with Rey Fenix's tweets. Not to say that they are not interested anymore, I'm sure that didn't change. But there was [sic] some eyebrows raised over those tweets, especially if you're going to put that out publicly. I think the WWE is going to do some digging into what's going on."
It will be interesting to see if those tweets will hurt Rey's chances of making it to WWE.
